Borecole is also known as Kale. Borecole Dwarf Green Curled is also suitable as winter fodder and game cover.
 
How to Grow Borecole Dwarf Green Curled:
 
Sowing Time: mid-May to July
 
Sowing Suggestion:
I would suggest sowing sowing Borecole Dwarf Green Curled seeds outdoors in a seed bed in drills 6mm (¼in) deep and 30cm (12in) apart.
 
Growing Borecole Dwarf Green Curled:
Thin the Borecole Dwarf Green Curled seedlings out to 23cm (9in) apart and transplant to final quarters in mid-Summer, spacing them 60cm (24in) apart.
 
Harvesting Time: Autumn and Winter
 
Helpful Hint: Pick the borecole leaves regularly from January to April, pinching out the centre stem first to encourage side shoots.

Cooking Suggestion:
Unless the borecole stems are very small and tender they should be cut out and discarded. Wash well in cold water. Unlike cabbage, borecole should be cooked until soft and is best when chopped or shredded.
