How to Grow Climbing French Bean Goldfield:
Sowing Time: April (inside), May to June (outside)
Sowing Suggestion:
I would sow Climbing French Bean Goldfield into the open ground in May or June. Sow at stations 9ins (23cm) apart, two borlotto beans to a station.
Alternatively, if sowing in April, as a precaution you may want to sow the beans inside in pots - three beans to a 9cm pot, place on a sunny windowsill or greenhouse, then thin to the strongest plant. Then plant your French Beans into the growing area.
Growing Climbing French Bean Goldfield:
Remove the weaker seedlings after germination. Hoe regularly and keep well watered and mulched in dry spells.
Harvesting Time: July onwards
Helpful Hint: Harvest regularly while the pods are young for the best crops.
Climbing French Bean Goldfield's Nutritional Information:
Climbing and Dwarf beans are a good source of Vitamin A and K.
Cooking Suggestion:
Climbing French Beans can be eaten young in their bean pods, but they're also great chopped in salads, and can also be shelled and cooked. Climbing French Beans can be used in stews and soups.
