How to Grow Aubergine Rosa Bianca (Organic):
Sowing Time: Inside October to December or late January to April
Sowing Suggestion:
Sow on the surface of a moist, free-draining compost. Place in a propagator or seal inside a polythene bag at a constant temperature of 18-21C (65-70F) until after germination, which takes 10-14 days.
Growing Aubergine F1 Rosa Bianca (Organic):
Aubergines are best grown in a greenhouse, but from May they can be planted into containers on a sunny patio, or into the ground in very sunny area of your garden. Stake as you would for tomatoes and water regularly. To increase yield you could feed with a high potash tomato feed. Harvest regularly to promote further growth and thus extend the picking season.
Harvesting Time: Greenhouse - April onwards. Outside - September onwards
Helfpul Hint: Planting aubergine plants on your patio or in a sunny plot will give you the best chance of getting a good harvest of aubergines.

Aubergines are a good source of viscous fibre which has been shown to reduce the absorption of cholesterol. They contain Vitamins E & K and are high in potassium, folate and magnesium.
Cookery Suggestions:
Aubergine in general is used in Greek moussaka and ratatouille, or it can be roasted and pureed with other ingredients to make baba ghanoush (a middle Eastern dip). It can also be sliced and fried to make aubergine crisps.
